And Then the Flash
And Then the Flash
Two artists meet. One at the complex end of a long-term relationship. The other about to set forward on an international adventure. The simple phrase “take me with you” changed both of their lives and catalyzed an enduring friendship. Their creativity became a dance across paper and screens and stories shared over tapas and mezcal bottles from the high desert of Mexico to New York’s Lower East Side. Dancing, adventuring, creating, and becoming.
The advent of this friendship—a 6,000-mile adventure at the beginning of 2012—built the foundation for And Then the Flash.
An immersive journey through written and visual art forms, And Then the Flash features collaborative work created by writer A Hunter Sunrise and photographer Marico Fayre–from the high desert of Mexico to New York’s Lower East Side. Together they explore the complexity of human transformation, longing and belonging, the spaces between endings and beginnings that inspire a new perspective, love and grief–and their many dark, light, obtuse and healing places.
